Secondary raw material development

Plastic Cup began by proving that river waste has value - what started as fun boat trips on plastic bottle rafts has grown into innovation: now, with academic and industry partners, we're turning collected PET waste into new materials like 3D printing granules, films, and foams.

The essence of Plastic Cup has been from the beginning to show that riverine litter is value. This is how it all started! Sailing downstream the river on boats floating on used plastic bottles, collecting waste and having fun! Now, with academic and industry cooperation we can even develop new secondary raw materials from the PET bottles itself. Together with the experienced researchers of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, we are now aiming to produce 3D printing granules, films and foams of degraded PET bottles collected from the floodplains.

Projects

Working together with our partners, we have developed technologies to enhance river saving.
